All About MLM Leads

Over the years, I've used a lot of leads from a lot of different sources; mail leads, email leads, phone leads. Whether they cost pennies each or dollars each, they all pretty much had one thing in common: they sucked; they leached away your dollars while they siphoned-off your time.

There are two things anyone working their MLM business in a professional manner will not do...

First, they will not bother friends and family.

Second, they will not call or mail to opportunity seekers.

Your warm market and those leads your upline tells you to call are not good prospects. That doesn't mean that there aren't any prospects among them. It just means you'll have to do a lot of sorting and sifting to find them. And too much of nothing has a way of becoming very discouraging.

It also means having to train them.

So they will cost you  time, as well as money.

In fact, there is a whole industry of 'experts' built around teaching you the exact wrong thing to do in contacting your warm market then having you teach and sell their methods to your new recruits.

There's also a big industry that's built around the sale of opportunity seeker leads. With the Internet, this has multiplied.

Is their any value among your warm market and purchased leads?

Because no one is born a network marketer, their is some value among them. Someone has to find the people who will become the network marketers of the future and teach them to find and sponsor others new to the business. And the fat cats are willing leave that to you while they concentrate their efforts on bringing over their established downlines from other companies as well as others already in Network Marketing.

At one time getting hold of genealogy llists from people or companies who were leaving the business was the answer. And their have been a few who have built businesses around supplying these genealogy lists. The problem was that these lists tended to be over sold and unreacheable, as well, and that today, it is harder to reach anyone by phone than ever before, especially it they are on an old genealogy list from a defunct company.

With the Internet, a better method of getting leads is to "roll your own" with Internet capture pages, and a number of people developed systems for doing this, myself included.
