Sponsoring

MLM Sponsoring

There are two parts or two sides to every MLM or Network Marketing business: moving products and sponsoring new members. Network Marketers who concentrate on moving products do sponsor new members, but they do it organically. And in many ways building organically can be best because people who use and believe in the products will stay with you, if only for the products.

Those who concentrate on product promotion also tend to be dedicated sponsors. They look after those who purchase products and make sure the products are working for them. Though it can be directly, they also indirectly teach those they sponsor how to duplicate themselves by their very example.

On the flip side there are the Network Marketers whose emphasis is on sponsoring new members. What’s telling about them is that they view this process as recruiting, and even call it that.

Sponsoring, by any definition, is a supportive position. Recruiting is simply racking up the count. Sponsoring means working with people and helping them grow. Recruiting is simply trolling for as many warm bodies as possible and hoping for a few survivors. Where MLM sponsoring is rather warm, MLM recruiting is cold. Those who place on emphasis on sponsoring or recruiting people for their business are too often interested in what their new recruit means to them, not in what they can do as a sponsor for their new recruit.
